Fiba Asian Cup | Asian Cup Review

I sat on my couch. The FIBA Asia Cup with our national team participating in it was nail-biting and heart-pumping. I watched the last five games against Taipei, Singapore, Jordan, Iran and India with Coke and chips. It was like riding a roller coaster all along but nobody can really predict the finality of anything, much of a game. This came as the case for us. Gilas Pilipinas won the chance to compete in Spain for the World Cup.

Puso! Finally! After forty years, Gilas will be competing at the FIBA World Cup! There has been a lot of buzz as to who the final twelve should be composed of. I read stuff on Yahoo Sports, Twitter and other more, a lot cheered and congratulated Paul Lee for his heroic move in just seconds during the team’s game against China which lead the amazing team to bag the bronze that took away the cheers of pro-China fans.

I think Paul Lee’s like Batman you know, hiding all that power to defeat the enemy. He knocked down China by surprise when he packed all three free throws right in the hoop! Paul Lee’s da man! I should also mention about De Ocampo which scored 18 points in all for the team with Aguilar who shot 14 and Tenorio with 12. These guys altogether stood out as well.

Gilas Pilipinas deserves to be in the World Cup. It’s exciting that we have risen to such a challenge to show the world how we’re so good at something and never simply give up even when there’s no ball time left but just the pressure packed free throw time.
